As you might have known today was the Glee Listening Pary, where you had the opportunity to listen to five songs from Season 4 of Glee. I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only Gleek doing this but I was getting extremely anxious waiting for the Ustream to actually start streaming and even though according to my clock the stream started about 2 minutes later I was okay as long as I received what I was promised. Well they did not disappoint and if you missed it because of technical difficulties, you were at work, or something else....here's the list of songs...Spoiler Alert!
1. Mash-up: Dance Again/Americano- J.Lo/Gaga- sung by Kate Hudson
For those of you who have did not know, Kate Hudson will be a special guest on Glee. She will be playing Rachel Berry's dance instructor in NYADA, and trust me she's anything but nice. As a fluent spanish speaker I definitely enjoyed and appreciated this song because Kate Hudson made an attempt to sing it, I did find myself trying to get into it at the beginning but I was almost up and practicing my Zumba moves by the end of it.
2. It's Time- Imagine Dragons- sung by Darren Criss (Blaine)
I have always loved Blaine's voice and definitely see how he was competition for Finn (when it came to solos) when he joined the glee club and I see how he could become "The New Rachel". In this song he definitely shines and I love it, it kind of reminds me of when he sang YOUNG THE GIANT'S "Cough Syrup".
3. Mash-up: Boys/Boyfriend - Britney Spears/Justin Bieber-sung by Darren Criss (Blaine) and Kevin Mchale (Artie)
There have been several tribute episodes to artists and even an album, well this tribute has already been done once but another one was defintely talked about. Who was the episode dedicated to? None other than Britney Spears. In this song Artie and Blaine mash-up Britney's 2009 Boys and Bieber's current hit Boyfriend. I'm not a huge Bieber fan but I definitely like what Artie and Blaine did with this, and I could definitely see them starting their own separate boy band.
4. Gimme More- Britney Spears- sung by Heather Morris (Brittany)
Most of you probably remember this as Britney's comeback song, and sure enough our own Brittany will be singing this song and almost making a comeback of her own (it's not often that Brittany gets solo and as a second year senior we'll see if Britney finally graduates). This was another song I wanted to get up and start dancing to, in fact I might download it later and do some of my Zumba moves to it. Could this solo mean Brittany is also fighting to be the next Rachel Berry?
5. Call Me Maybe- Carly Rae Jepsen- sung by Glee Club
Let's be serious, you've spent your entire summer listening to this song and when you're in the car alone you sing it at the top of your lungs. And I'm not going to lie when this song came over the stream I started singing it but had to stop, my roommate threatened to beat me up if I kept singing it and it didn't help that when the Glee Listening Party stream started I squealed and scared her. I could pinpoint a few voices in this song but decided to write the Glee Club because some of the voices were new and I didn't know who they belonged to, but it's okay because they did an awesome job and it's another song that will definitely be added to my Ipod.
There you have it, a preview to some of the Season 4 songs of Glee, and if you can find the songs on Youtube or find the video stream definitely take a listen. That's it and don't forget to tune into the new season of Glee Thursday Sept. 13 at 9 pm ET/ 8 pm CST on FOX.
